The Nature Conservation Agency (hereinafter – the Agency) plans to begin practical work at the end of the year to restore protected habitats across 870 hectares in 16 specially protected nature areas throughout Latvia, creating suitable conditions for the sustainable existence of species' habitats.
These activities are provided for under the European Union Cohesion Fund project “Implementation of management measures in specially protected nature areas and micro-reserves for the improvement of the conservation status of habitats and species”, which the Agency will implement by the end of 2023 together with partners from a/s “Latvijas valsts meži”, VSIA “Latvijas Valsts ceļi”, more than 10 local governments and private landowners.
