Public consultation invited for the Gauja National Park nature conservation plan project

Residents are invited to participate in the public consultation for the Gauja National Park nature conservation plan project. In the Sigulda municipality, meetings will take place on 6 September at 12.00 at the Krimulda Community Centre and at 17.00 at the Sigulda Parish Culture Centre.

According to information from the Sigulda municipality, during the public consultation, attendees will be introduced to the objectives of establishing the Gauja National Park, its most significant natural assets and the factors affecting them, as well as proposals for the territory's management, its functional zoning, and the proposed draft of individual protection and usage regulations.

The objective of developing the nature conservation plan is to ensure the preservation of the territory's assets by reconciling the interests of nature conservation, recreation, tourism, landowners, regional development, and other stakeholders. The nature conservation plan is being developed for the period from 2023 to 2035. (...)
