On 12 April, the Cabinet of Ministers adopted amendments to the Hunting Regulations. These introduce a series of changes.

The annotation for the draft regulations states that the primary purpose of the draft is to ensure that the regulatory acts governing the hunting sector comply with the amendments to the Hunting Law, which will come into effect on 1 April 2022, and also to fulfil the task assigned at the State Secretaries' meeting on 20 January 2022: for the Ministry of Agriculture to prepare amendments to Cabinet of Ministers Regulation No. 421 of 22 July 2014, "Hunting Regulations" (21-TA-1825), in accordance with the State Audit Office's recommendation in audit case No. 2.4.1-16/2019, "Is sustainable species management and appropriate hunting management supervision ensured in Latvia?", by removing the lynx from the list of game species.
