The Nord Stream 2 gas pipeline, which will supply gas to Germany from Russia, should in no way be linked to discussions on politics and human rights between Moscow and Berlin, a representative of the German Social Democratic Party (SPD) has stated. It should be recalled that the German Social Democrats are currently the leading party in the country's government coalition. As is known, the gas pipeline is "ready for operation", requiring permits from German and European Union regulators. Some politicians, both within and outside Germany, have expressed that the operation of the gas pipeline will not be permitted due to political disagreements with Russia.
