Following the completion of deforestation and stripping works in July, the "Latvijas valsts meži" (LVM) sand and sand-gravel extraction site "Lapsukalns" is now available for mineral procurement. It is located in the 192nd quarter of the 308th quarter area in Pilskalne parish, Augšdaugava municipality.

The total area of the extraction site is 7.65 ha, containing 542,470 m3 of sand and 88,720 m3 of sand-gravel. At present, an area of 4.03 ha has been prepared for mineral extraction.
