A representative of the Truck Loggers Association (British Columbia, Canada) felt it necessary to respond to an article published in the local newspaper Prince George Citizen regarding unsustainable logging (Rob Mercereau, Logging practices aren’t sustainable). The response emphasises that the article lacks even a shred of understanding or awareness of how the thousands of forestry workers feel when they are "offered the opportunity" to lose their jobs and livelihoods.

The Association believes that stakeholders, including indigenous peoples, local communities, and NGOs, must engage in reasonable cooperation. As is known, the Association has reached out to both the public and authorities on more than one occasion in order to develop a joint forest management plan or at least a vision for one.
