Forests play a very significant (even monumental) role in achieving various climate-related goals, such as carbon sequestration, mitigating climate change, and providing food, livelihoods, "fuel", shelter, and clean water.

But!!!! The forest sector has serious problems with its public image. Very little is said about this, but addressing it would certainly help in solving many problems.

In many places on Earth, forests are seen as something to be preserved untouched. Many public activities and campaigns about forests deal heavy blows to the sector, portraying forests as "remaining green islands" that are supposedly untouchable. The sound of a chainsaw or the hum of a harvester triggers disgust in many people.

But!!!! There is a vital, huge and... distinct difference between sustainable forest management and uncritical, indiscriminate clear-cutting.
