On 24 October, the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies (LLU) hosted the international conference "Challenges in plant breeding: what is the role of breeding in future agriculture", where internationally recognised scientists from the Netherlands and Estonia, as well as experts from Latvia, shared their experience and knowledge. In the concluding award ceremony, the winners of the Dr.agr. Jānis Lielmanis award were honoured – Viesturs and Dzintra Niedoli from the farm "Saules".
