There are two sides to this. One is the sluggish capital market, the other is the wish to list these companies on the stock exchange. It is worth considering, but it must be borne in mind that "Latvenergo" has two components. If we take the part that trades in electricity, listing it would not be a problem. However, when it comes to AS "Sadales tīkls", which belongs to AS "Latvenergo", that company is a monopoly and an important part of the country's electricity supply infrastructure.bnn.lv

Hunting

The State Forest Service, in cooperation with the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava", has carried out an in-depth analysis of data on the management and distribution of the wolf population. On that basis, the State Forest Service has increased the total permitted wolf cull for the 2025/2026 hunting season to 370 animals. vmd.gov.lv

On 15 July 2025 the hunting season for red deer hinds and calves opens throughout Latvia. From 1 July, red deer hinds and calves could be hunted only in those census units where a decision to limit red deer numbers had been taken. Red deer hinds may be hunted until 31 January, and calves until the end of the hunting season on 31 March. The hunting season for beaver and muskrat also opens on 15 July and will continue until 15 April. In drainage systems, the deadline for hunting beaver and muskrat is 30 April.vmd.gov.lv

Monitoring data from last year indicate that around 150 bears live in Latvia. Hunters, however, reckon that this number could be considerably higher.medibam.lv
