In the coming weeks the minister intends to meet representatives of the forestry sector in order to discuss the possible changes in more detail. If there is support, the amendments could be drafted as early as this year so that they can be factored into next year's budget. Meanwhile, private forest owners point out that the government still has not delivered on the promises it made to them.
