In the “Lifetime Contribution” category, the 2021 “Golden Cone” award for a significant lifelong contribution to the development of the industry goes to:
- Ilze Veinberga, researcher at the Latvian State Forest Research Institute (LVMI) “Silava”,
- Rūta Kazāka, long-standing employee of the Faculty of Forest at the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies,
- Jānis Sejāns, forest warden of the Gauja forest district at SIA “Rīgas Meži”.
In the “Innovative Entrepreneurship” category, the “Golden Cone” award was presented to AS “Graanul Invest”.
In the “Contribution to Public Education” category, the “Golden Cone” award was won by Andrejs Domkins, head of the Forest and Wood Products Research and Development Institute.
In the “Sustainable Management” category, the laureates were evaluated in the “Tidiest Forest” competition organised by the Latvian Forest Owners’ Association. The “Golden Cone” award was presented to Rūdolfs and Silvija Paegle, owners of the “Druvnieki” forest property.
Meanwhile, the “Little Golden Cone” award in the “Innovative Entrepreneurship” category was presented to:
- the family business SIA “Jūrmalas Mežaparki”,
- upholstered furniture manufacturer SIA “Sencis”.
In the “Contribution to Public Education” category, the “Little Golden Cone” award was presented to Linards Sisenis, Dean of the LLU Faculty of Forest.
In the “Sustainable Management” category, the “Little Golden Cone” award was received by:
- forest owners’ association SIA “PK Mežs”,
- forest owner with a fishing background Rišards Petraškevičs.
