Kristaps Klauss, Executive Director of the Latvian Forest Industry Federation, explains that the unusually warm autumn is one of the reasons why the price of wood fuel is decreasing: “The atypically warm weather in Europe so far is, of course, having an impact on energy prices and the prices of all types of fuel.
We are currently seeing a decrease in prices for gas as well as wood, including wood chips and pellets for fuel.
A price drop is being observed everywhere for Premium pellets; this perhaps even started earlier in Central Europe, for example in Denmark, where one could say that this price decline has been noticeable for 8 or 9 weeks now.”
