The use of wood (timber) in building construction varies across different regions of Great Britain. In Scotland, timber buildings are the norm, and their popularity is growing in Wales, whereas in England only 1/4 of new builds use wood. Scotland and Wales are at the forefront of timber usage due to corresponding (supportive) government policies, while there is still much to be done in England.
