Wind farms will now also be in our forests and bogs

Amendments clarify the regulations for the placement of wind power plants, stipulating that they may now also be situated in forest territories. In supporting the construction of wind power plants in forest areas, the opinions of environmental experts and ornithologists have been taken into account.

The minimum permissible distance to residential and public buildings has also been clarified, which cannot be less than 500 metres. This distance was determined by taking into account the environmental impact assessment, as well as the technological development of wind power plants. Minimum distances must also be observed if new residential or public development is planned in the vicinity of existing wind power plants and wind farms.

The regulation regarding the placement of wind power plants in the vicinity of state-protected cultural monument areas remains unchanged; the requirement to assess their impact on the landscape remains, taking into account the specific situation and the nature of the cultural monuments.
