The fruit-growing sector has reached a dead end. Yes, 2022 was a good year in terms of harvest, but as a result, prices across the European market plummeted. Competing with eastern neighbours, primarily Poland, Belgian growers are being forced to sell apples at a loss in order to remain competitive.
