Which countries, such as Angola or the USA, will discourage or wean Europe off Russian natural gas?

Did you know that Russia is not the world's largest producer of natural gas? It occupies second place behind the USA in this regard. Despite this, the European Union is fundamentally reliant on gas supplies from Russia, which appears to be almost the only pillar of the European energy market.

Looking at the bigger picture, Russian gas makes up 3% of gas imports in the USA and 5% in Great Britain, whereas in the EU it accounts for a massive 40%. Some countries rely on these supplies disproportionately. For example, in Serbia, gas from Russia makes up 89%, in Finland as much as 94% (it should be noted that gas accounts for only 5% of this Nordic country's energy consumption), while in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Russian natural gas accounts for 100% of their energy dependency.

The European Union has decided to sever ties with Russia due to its invasion of Ukraine, aiming to reduce gas imports by two-thirds by 2023. At the same time, the EU is actively looking for opportunities to obtain gas elsewhere.
