When discussing the use of wood biomass for energy, the important things often get "lost"

In several parallel media campaigns and initiatives, inaccurate information is being used when discussing the use of wood biomass for renewable energy. Some campaigns deliberately distort traditional forestry practices and bioenergy systems, associating the use of wood biomass for energy with the "overexploitation" of forests, and often with total deforestation and the "burning of trees".

Bioenergy obtained from the forest is an integral part of the forestry process, linked to the market demand for bioenergy and resulting in both forest management and production processes that yield fuel, heat and electricity alongside logs, sawn timber, paper and other bioproducts. These media campaigns ignore the progress made to date in sustainable forest management in Europe and North America.
