Swedish Prime Minister Ulf Kristersson has disregarded the green agenda by immediately abolishing the Ministry of Climate and the Environment. Consequently, for the first time in 35 years, Sweden does not have a dedicated climate ministry. People are crying that the world will collapse if bureaucrats who pretend they can change weather cycles, provided they have enough funding, are not financed.

“Environmental issues will be sidelined at the same time as Sweden faces a huge challenge regarding biodiversity and forestry,” stated Stockholm University professor Karin Bäckstrand (Karin Bäckstrand). “We will not achieve the 2030 Agenda goals for biodiversity.”

Christian Democrat leader Ebba Busch (Ebba Busch) is the Minister for Energy, 26-year-old Liberal Romina Pourmokhtari (Romina Pourmokhtari) is the Minister for Climate and the Environment, and the Sweden Democrats do not support the goal of reaching net-zero emissions.

Instead, the new government is prioritising nuclear energy initiatives, which will make closing existing power plants increasingly difficult, while earmarking 36 billion euros for the construction of new nuclear power plants. The new government is also considering restarting two nuclear power plants that ceased operations in recent years.
