Great Britain will soon host international meeting participants (Glasgow, 31 October). It is expected that this meeting will decide that drastic climate change must be strictly controlled.
After the Glasgow meeting, we can expect a flood of new announcements. Many of these are expected to be highly technical, including, for example, the rules still needed to implement the Paris Agreement.
Other announcements might include desires for:
- A faster transition to electric vehicles
- Accelerating the phase-out of coal power
- Felling fewer trees
- Protecting more people from the effects of climate change, such as funding coastal protection systems
