Green financial instruments are a means of raising funds for sustainable investments, and they are also being promoted by the European Green Deal, explained Daiga Auziņa-Melalksne, Chair of the Management Board of Nasdaq Riga.
These are investments in a company's development that support climate and environmentally friendly projects aimed at long-term development and sustainability. By issuing such securities, a company raises funds that are invested in these projects. In general, interest from companies in issuing such securities is growing; as a rule, most of these companies are large and state-owned. When it comes to Latvia, we can name Latvenergo, Altum, and now also Augstsprieguma tīkls.
