The visit to Brussels by the Executive Director of the European Border and Coast Guard Agency (Frontex) using a private jet raises questions about the prudent management of allocated funds by the European Union's best-funded agency. As is known, not so long ago European taxpayers (and earners) also paid for a €94,000 lunch.

Frontex, which is based in Warsaw, has an annual budget of around €500 million and is one of the largest and, in terms of mandate and power, one of the strongest and most influential EU agencies. Regarding finances, its budget has recently been increased due to the situation at the EU's external borders and the resulting security priorities.
