Data from the European Union (EU) statistical office Eurostat shows that in March, Latvia had a higher annual inflation rate than the EU and eurozone averages.
Specifically, annual inflation in Latvia in March was 11.5%. Higher inflation was recorded only in Lithuania (15.6%), Estonia (14.8%), the Czech Republic (11.9%) and the Netherlands (11.7%), while other countries saw lower figures, with several, such as Finland (5.8%), Portugal (5.5%), France (5.1%) and Malta (4.5%), being significantly lower than ours. Meanwhile, the average annual inflation in the EU in March was 7.8%, and 7.4% in the eurozone. It is also significant that consumer prices in Latvia rose by 3.3% in March compared to February, while in Lithuania they rose by 2.4% and in Estonia by 2.7%. (...)
