The organisers of the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2024” competition invite the public to get involved in the competition and to vote for their favourite energy-efficient building in Latvia by 23.59 on 15 September this year.

Information about all the buildings entered in this year's competition has been published on the competition website. The building that receives the most votes from the public will receive the competition's Audience Award. We invite you to vote on the competition website: https://energoefektivakaeka.lv/2024-gads/balsosana/ You can vote for your favourite once a day from a single IP address.

For the 14th year running, the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia” competition has been announced as part of the Ministry of Economics campaign “Dzīvo siltāk”, with the aim of promoting good practice in building energy efficiency and sustainability through the construction, renovation and reconstruction of energy-efficient buildings, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions into the atmosphere and improving public understanding of well-being, the thermal performance of buildings and indoor microclimate, as well as the importance of reducing greenhouse gas emissions and the ways of doing so, in order to create a high-quality, architecturally expressive living environment.

Entries for the “Most Energy-Efficient Building in Latvia 2024” competition could be submitted until 18 June this year. This year the competition received a total of 43 building entries. Over the summer the competition jury assessed all the entries submitted and also carried out on-site evaluations of the buildings shortlisted for the second round. The results are currently being compiled so that a decision can be taken on this year's most energy-efficient buildings. The competition winners will be presented with their awards on 19 September this year.

The competition regulations were drawn up in cooperation with the partners of the “Dzīvo siltāk” information campaign – the State Construction Control Bureau, the State Fire and Rescue Service, the European Commission Representation in Latvia, AS “Sadales tīkls”, the Elektrum Energy Efficiency Centre, the Rural Support Service, the Riga Energy Agency, Riga Technical University, Rīga Stradiņš University, the Latvian Association of Building Managers and Administrators, the Latvian Association of Window and Door Manufacturers, the Association of Building Material Manufacturers, the Latvian Association of Mineral Wool Manufacturers, the Latvian Union of Heat, Gas and Water Technology Engineers, and SIA “Publisko aktīvu pārvaldītājs Possessor”.
