A visitor to Riga Zoo has contacted the police regarding a kangaroo sleeping in an unnatural position, the Zoo's Information and Education Department informed the LETA agency.

Lately, staff at Riga Zoo have frequently had to answer questions about why the red kangaroo Kingaroo lies on his back in what many consider to be an unnatural position, leading them to worry about his critical state of health.

One visitor was unsatisfied with the explanations provided by the Zoo staff, and a report was filed with the police. Following lengthy communication with police representatives, who were inclined to view such "indecent" kangaroo sleeping habits as inappropriate and offensive to the animal-loving sentiments of visitors, a decision will be made regarding further action.
