Under the contracts concluded this year, A/s "Latvijas valsts meži" (LVM) is supplying wood chips solely to Latvian manufacturing companies, stated the company's sales manager Līga Ozola-Šmite. She explains that local demand currently significantly exceeds supply and is at a level never seen before. This is being driven by the market shift from natural gas consumption to other resources.

L. Ozola-Šmite notes that LVM representatives have informed both existing and potential partners that, due to a significant increase in demand for energy wood, LVM is re-planning production to create opportunities to increase wood chip sales volumes by up to 30% for the 2022/2023 heating season.
