One of the most extensive large-tree planting initiatives of the last year was carried out by the private sector – during the landscaping of the “Business Garden Rīga” office complex in Pārdaugava, the “Labo Koku” team carefully surveyed the trees before the construction project was even developed, assessing their number, species diversity and value. As a result of the audit, the office buildings were literally planned around the valuable trees. Trees that could not be preserved were transplanted, and more than 60 large trees were planted in addition. This requires investment.

Precisely for this reason, being aware of the catastrophic situation regarding trees in Riga and seeing the long list of upcoming residential and commercial construction projects through to 2022, it is important to speak about developers' contributions to increasing the capital's green space in good time.
