We are one of the industry players that process low-value small-diameter timber—which was previously exported from Latvia in the form of raw roundwood—right here locally in Latvia, producing furniture components, sawn timber, and fuel for individual consumption in the form of briquettes and firewood. We currently process approximately 70,000 m3 of low-value roundwood per year, and more such companies are emerging in Latvia. This means that the export of cheap raw materials is steadily declining, as they are now being processed by local companies, creating exportable products with additional added value right here. For "Dižmežs" as well, 95% of total turnover comes from exports—we work with partners in Great Britain, Sweden, Finland, Germany, Denmark, the Netherlands, Belgium, France, the USA, and elsewhere.
