We invite schools, families and every friend of nature to discover the riches of the forest at the grandest Forest Days festival of the year, "Latvijas Meža dienas", which takes place this very week – on 24 and 25 May – in Tērvete.
Entry to the event is free. Schools and families are especially welcome, to get to know the forest growing cycle from seed to timber house, and to find out about study and career opportunities in the forest sector.
“Latvijas Meža dienas” take place in the “Kurbada zeme” themed area of the Latvijas valsts meži nature park in Tērvete, where between 10.00 and 17.00 everyone is invited to take part in the discovery stops prepared by more than 100 organisations. There, forest experts will talk about the role of the forest in carbon sequestration, Latvia's energy independence and the availability of timber resources in the future, and will invite visitors to get involved in workshops and try out forestry-related work, finding an answer to the question – does your future lie in the trees?
On 24 May – SCHOOLS DAY – there will be a wide range of workshops and demonstrations for pupils, and the winners of the AS “Latvijas valsts meži” school competitions and of the competition organised by “Zaļā josta” will receive their awards. On this day the band “Sudden Lights” will perform on stage.

12.00 – award ceremony for the winners of the “Zaļā josta” waste paper and used battery collection competitions, with musical performances by the band “Sudden Lights”
On 25 May – FAMILY DAY – families and every friend of nature who wants to get to know Latvia's green gold – its forests – are especially welcome! There will be a variety of musical performances on stage: a concert by the children's programme “Ukulele” and the band “Labvēlīgais Tips” with a special concert programme created just for “Latvijas Meža dienas”!

Since 2018, AS “Latvijas valsts meži” has established a tradition of bringing all friends of the forest together once a year at the LVM nature park in Tērvete to celebrate "Latvijas Meža dienas" together. The event is organised by AS "Latvijas valsts meži" in cooperation with Dobele Municipality, "Zaļā josta" and more than 100 forest sector organisations. Visitors to “Latvijas Meža dienas” also have a special gift in store on the day – free entry to the LVM nature park in Tērvete. See you out in nature!
