Edijs Krūmiņš and Inga Jefrēmova, founders of the Kaltene-based company SIA Latsketch, realised during their studies that they would develop the idea of curved wooden flooring into a business, and therefore their master's theses were developed on topics useful to the business. E. Krūmiņš built the necessary CNC machine and developed the technological process for manufacturing curved wooden flooring, while I. Jefrēmova researched opportunities for attracting funding.

Initially, SIA Latsketch positioned itself as a manufacturer of curved wooden flooring, but currently, based on customer demand, it also offers wall cladding materials and materials for furniture production with curved designs. Taking customer demand into account, the range of products on offer has been expanded to include finishing materials with both classic designs and those suitable for restoration requirements.
