The Forest Days Committee has determined the winners of the Forest Industry Annual Award “Zelta čiekurs 2021”. Recipients of the industry's main annual award have received the large “Zelta čiekurs”, while the other winners have been awarded the small “Zelta čiekuriņš”. The ceremonial presentation of the awards is planned for the spring during the Forest Days; we will provide more specific information on the timing in due course.

 

“Zelta čiekurs” is the annual top recognition of the forest industry for significant achievements and contributions to the sector. The award was established to identify Latvia's best forest workers and thank them for their work, as well as to introduce the public to Latvia's best foresters. The award is being presented for the eighteenth time, and each year it is given in four categories: “For Lifetime Contribution”, “For Innovative Entrepreneurship”, “For Contribution to Public Education” and “For Sustainable Management”. Since the inception of the competition, the forest industry annual award has been presented to nearly 200 Latvian foresters, industry researchers, entrepreneurs, associations and enterprises.
