We invite you to support Latvia's treasure – the Age Great Oak!

On the competition website (https://www.treeoftheyear.org/), you can find out about the trees from the 16 participating countries and their stories, which are available to read in 16 languages. The winner will be determined by public vote. The competition rules state that during the final week of voting, the results are not visible to voters.

On the evening of 21 February at 21:53, the Age Great Oak had 23,276 votes.

The European Tree of the Year competition has been held in other European countries since 2002, organised by organisations associated with forestry, land, the environment and history. In Latvia, it took place for the first time last year, in 2021.

As is well known, there are 6,843,977,334 trees in Latvia (Latvian National Forest Inventory data).

We would like to remind voters: in this competition, both the tree and the story are equally important.
