Highly pathogenic avian influenza has been detected in wild birds in Latvia, reports the Food and Veterinary Service (PVD). The PVD has received laboratory test results confirming this influenza in two dead mute swans found on Dzintari beach in Jūrmala. This is the first case of avian influenza in Latvia.
