A Czech energy company was forced to disconnect hundreds of solar panels because they were generating more energy than the grid could absorb and transmit. For example, on 10 April, due to the Easter holidays, electricity consumption in the Czech Republic was low, while the sunny weather meant that solar power stations were producing a huge volume of energy.

To protect the grid, the state-owned company ČEPS disconnected them. This incident proves that the country has an insufficient electricity storage system, said Jan Krčmář (Jan Krčmář), Executive Director of the Czech Solar Association.
