Scientific Council of "Silava" elected

The General Meeting of Scientists of the Latvian State Forest Research Institute "Silava" (LVMI Silava) elected the Scientific Council of LVMI Silava on 11 June 2021 with the following members:

On 11 June 2021, the Scientific Council of LVMI Silava elected Tālis Gaitnieks as the Chairman of the Council and Āris Jansons as the Deputy Chairman.

The Scientific Council of LVMI Silava is a collegiate governing body of the institute. The Scientific Council, consisting of 9 scientists, is elected for a 3-year term by the general meeting of LVMI Silava scientists through a secret ballot.

40 participants, or 83.3% of the scientists (doctors of science) working at LVMI Silava, took part in the general meeting of scientists of LVMI Silava.
