(...) Firstly. How will public sentiment in Ukraine itself fluctuate, especially in a situation where proponents of different viewpoints each have their own absolute justification?

Frankly speaking, it does not take a great mind to formulate this question, but I will note that, as far as I can tell, a very sensible (and hawkish) Ukrainian political scientist also acknowledged the problem in a recent interview. The problem is as follows: some of those who have endured the horrors of aggression will call on Ukraine's leaders to do everything – even if it means compromise – to end the suffering affecting peaceful civilians. And who would have the nerve to accuse those expressing such an opinion of cowardice? At the same time, others – also having lost loved ones or property – will demand that the fight continues until, if one can put it that way, a total Ukrainian victory. And again – who would have the nerve to accuse these people of excessive stubbornness? Zelenskyy and his colleagues will have to choose. An unenviable situation, because, in essence, both choices are rooted in human tragedy.
