The political decision to be climate-neutral sounds very grand, but when it comes to practical implementation, it is not so easily done without making significant changes to economic activity. Our proposal would be to change economic activity on organic or peat soils on agricultural land. It is also important to increase the overall growth rate in forests by supporting measures that promote it: targeted stand regeneration – by planting the best available material – and the tending of young stands, a forestry regime that minimises the risk of various types of damage as much as possible, as well as hydro-technical drainage.
