The Netherlands has approved a planned joint project with Germany for the extraction of natural gas in the North Sea, with production expected to begin in 2024.
The Dutch Ministry of Economic Affairs announced on the evening of Wednesday, 1 June, that State Secretary for Extractive Industries Hans Vijlbrief had granted the necessary permits for the project. Following initial delays, the German federal state of Lower Saxony is also working to approve the project as soon as possible. (...)
