The LIFE REEF project, implemented by the Nature Conservation Agency, carried out scientific research work in Latvia's exclusive economic zone last year. Three areas were studied in depth with the aim of including them in the network of protected marine areas. These areas require names, so we are launching a competition, giving everyone the opportunity to get involved in creating these names.

The largest of the areas to be established is located west of Ventspils, the second is situated southwest of Pāvilosta, while the third is northwest of Liepāja.
