For more than 10 years, the European branch of Greenpeace has been involved in the trading of Russian gas using a company registered in Germany, Greenpeace NRG. The company has now changed its name to Green Planet Energy, its founder is the head of the German Greenpeace, and both the company and the activists share the same office space on a daily basis.
Representatives of BUND (Friends of the Earth Germany) and the World Wide Fund for Nature in Germany have received €10 million from Gazprom.
As stated in the explanation provided by Friends of the Earth Germany, preference is given to natural gas from Russia rather than nuclear energy.
