For the sixth year running, the Ministry of Environmental Protection and Regional Development (VARAM) has assessed the maturity level of the public administration e-index, collecting data on the use of digital opportunities in public authority communication with society, customer service, service provision, internal institutional processes, inter-institutional cooperation, the availability of open data, and more. Within the ministerial group, the highest results were achieved by the Ministry of Justice, the Ministry of Agriculture, VARAM, and the Ministry of Economics.

Following the awards ceremony for the Ministry of Justice and the Ministry of Agriculture, State Secretary of the Ministry of Agriculture Raivis Kronbergs emphasised: “It is a source of real pride that the digital level of the e-index has been recognised with the highest acclaim, both at the Ministry of Justice, where we were able to achieve it through joint efforts, and now at my current workplace – the Ministry of Agriculture. It is positive that ministries are increasingly transitioning to unified solutions within their sectors – this allows us to become more efficient and reduces the administrative burden. The Ministry of Agriculture will continue to work actively to offer increasingly high-quality IT services to its clients and employees, participating in both the development and implementation of policy documents. Already, for the convenience of farmers, fishers, forest owners, food producers, and other clients, sector-specific Customer Service Centres are available, as well as an ever-growing number of various electronic services. In recent years, the digitalisation of various internal and collaborative processes has been a priority, replacing previous models with modern, progressive, and sustainable business processes.”
