On 12 June, the Minister for Agriculture met with representatives of the forest sector. During the visit, they toured the “Podiņi” tree nursery, which is the largest nursery in the world for bare-root seedlings with improved root systems, received information on the work of the Forest Research Station and the research into forest breeding by scientists at the Latvian State Forest Research Institute “Silava”, inspected a spruce stand with low initial density in Kalsnava, and visited “AKZ”, one of Latvia’s largest sawmills, in Aizkraukle.
