The Latvian Academy of Sciences Young Scientist Award has been presented to Mg. silv. Valters Samariks, research assistant at the Latvian State Forest Research Institute Silava and doctoral student at LLU, for his research on 'Root parameters characterising tree wind resistance', supervised by Dr. silv. Āris Jansons and PhD Oskars Krišāns.
