Since September 2017, Ogres tehnikums has been implementing the professional further education programme “Beekeeping”, leading to a professional qualification as a beekeeper, at Ogres tehnikums and its programme implementation site in Vecbebri, Bebri Parish, Aizkraukle Municipality. Furthermore, Ogres tehnikums has taken over the operation of the Latvian Beekeeping History Museum, which features an exhibition related to the beekeeping profession and the development of beekeeping in Latvia. On 3 September 2022, between 11.00 and 13.00, Ogres tehnikums is organising a “Honey Festival” event at the Latvian Beekeeping History Museum and its surrounding grounds, which also serve as the Ogres tehnikums training apiary. During the event, all those interested will have the opportunity to view the museum’s exhibition, taste honey extracted at the Ogres tehnikums training apiary, and take part in engaging activities. We invite everyone who wishes to learn about the life of bees, sample honey and beekeeping products, to the Latvian Beekeeping History Museum in Vecbebri, Bebri Parish, Aizkraukle Municipality!
