FACE agrees with the view of the EU Court that limited and controlled hunting of large protected carnivores complies with EU rules and laws. This decision comes after lengthy legal proceedings in Finland and Sweden, where courts considered attempts to ban wolf hunting altogether. In many EU member states, hunting is used as an opportunity to positively and long-term influence large carnivore populations.
