European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen has stated: “We will put a price on pollution, we will clean up the energy we consume, we will have smarter cars and cleaner planes.” Thus, the European Green Deal has been established as one of the European Union’s absolute priorities. “It is clear that both Europe and the world at large are moving along this path, because people have realised that we can no longer afford to use resources so wastefully, or be so indifferent to the human footprint on the environment,” explained professor and Member of the European Parliament Inese Vaidere while appearing on the TV24 programme “Saudzēt, saglabāt, samīļot.
