When the Forestry Volunteer Centre began its work in February this year, nobody imagined just how serious and extensive this undertaking would be. Back then, in the first days of the war, everyone had to unite to do both the possible and the impossible for the sake of our Victory. Over time, this desire only grew; it became necessary to support our defenders, including the Volhynian foresters who are on the front line.
Almost twice a week, vehicles loaded with the widest range of essential aid head to various parts of the country where fighting continues. During this time, Volhynian foresters have collected tens of tonnes of humanitarian aid goods through their own efforts.
For the needs of the army, the teams from state forestry units and administrations purchased and delivered more than fifty vehicles using funds they had raised.
In the Kivertsi forestry workshop, the production of tinned food for the armed forces was organised, specifically various meat porridges, which are essentially ready-made dinners. The defenders also enjoy other tinned forest produce.
Our partners. Stable and unwavering. Without them, there would be no success
These are, first and foremost, our colleagues from Latvia, with whose help a large volume of humanitarian aid goods has been delivered to hotspots in Ukraine: ambulances, off-road vehicles, medication, medical equipment, generators, hygiene products, food, warm clothing, footwear and much more.
✔️Forest Certification Council of Latvia and its chairman, Māris Liopa.
✔️NGO “Tev” and its head, Artūrs Kristlībs, who personally delivers the goods to Ukraine.
✔️The company “Latvijas Finieris”.
✔️Faculty of Forest of the Latvia University of Life Sciences and Technologies.
✔️Trade Union of Forest Industry of Latvia.
✔️Representatives of local companies.
We also constantly feel significant support from partners from Poland and Germany.
✔️Humanitarian aid organisation “People for People”, Wuppertal (Germany).
They were the first to provide the most essential medication and medical goods at the start of the war, when shortages began in our country. At that time, there were ambulances and other expensive medical supplies and equipment.
✔️ADSautoDimServis Poland
✔️AIC Automotive Components Germany
✔️BIAKAR a.e. Greece
✔️DR MOTOR Poland
These companies donated long-life food, including for animals, hygiene products and medication.
We have described many of the aforementioned facts separately. In total, all aid is intended for military purposes and the needs of residents in the areas most affected by the war. The map (https://lisvolyn.gov.ua/) shows the Mykolaiv, Dnipropetrovsk, Kharkiv, Kyiv, Donetsk, Luhansk, Odesa and Sumy regions.
We will continue to keep you informed. Until victory!
