Finnish start-up Paptic mainly produces wood fibre material that replaces plastic in shopping bags. The company's Chief Business Development Officer Esa Torniainen believes that using wood in the production of goods where it provides the greatest added value is undoubtedly worthwhile.
There is not enough biomass in the world to replace all fossil raw materials. We will certainly need to look for new solutions, but biomass will retain its significant place, adds E. Torniainen, emphasising that by keeping profitability and sustainability in mind, it will always be possible to find the most successful solution.
