On 5 December, the first regional State Co-working Office was opened in Cēsis, in the building owned by the Ministry of Finance at Kr. Valdemāra iela 2. This modern, energy-efficient office offers workspaces for staff from several public institutions, creating the opportunity to work together effectively in one place. The first to begin work at the office in December, on a trial basis, will be employees of the State Land Service. In January they will be joined by staff from the Nature Conservation Agency, the Ministry of Justice, the State Revenue Service and the Prosecutor's Office, reports Andris Vārna, member of the board of VNĪ.

The office has been designed on activity-based working principles, allowing staff to choose a workspace to suit their particular needs, whether for individual work or for working together in teams. The office provides ergonomic desks and chairs, the necessary IT support, and a suitable indoor climate along with other well-being facilities such as tea, coffee and water. The premises have been arranged so that staff can choose the most suitable zone for the task at hand, and rest areas and a shared kitchen are also available.

"At a time when we are moving towards a more compact and efficient public administration and stronger cross-sector cooperation, co-working offices are one of the instruments for putting these goals into practice in everyday work. I congratulate the people of Cēsis on being the first to make use of the solutions offered by a regional State Co-working Office of this kind. I believe that both the institutions and the public, the recipients of services, will appreciate the advantages of the co-working office and see them translate into better quality services," says Raivis Kronbergs, Director of the State Chancellery.
