Riga Aviation Museum exhibits moved to a new home

The private Aviation Museum is moving from Riga Airport to a new home. In the future, it will be located in Skulte, not far from the spot known as the plane-spotting area. On Tuesday, 24 August, the largest exhibits of the Aviation Museum were relocated.

By pushing and pulling simultaneously, the massive aircraft was set in motion and is slowly leaving the airport grounds. This is one of the largest and heaviest exhibits of the Aviation Museum that must be transported to its new home on the other side of the airfield, on the Skulte side.

"The largest helicopter, the 'MI6', is being moved. At one time, it was the largest in the world. It is the only exhibit of its kind in the Baltics. Later, the 'TU-22 M1' aircraft will stand here. It is, in fact, the only one remaining in the world."
