The European Commission's approval of the Irish government's desire to increase assistance to Ireland's National Forestry Programme for 2021 has been welcomed.
The previous EC approval for Irish state aid for forestry expired on 31 December; the new agreement allows the Irish government to continue the forest support programme, for which 103 million euros had already been earmarked in October 2020.
